About
Anoush Chohilli was founded with a singular purpose: to craft refined menswear that forms the foundation of a modern gentleman’s wardrobe — timeless, intentional, and designed to endure.
The journey began in 2023, when I was invited to my cousin’s wedding. I wanted to wear something unique — a statement that didn’t require purchasing an entirely new outfit. One evening, while watching a Batman film, I was struck by the strength and silhouette of the iconic symbol. That moment sparked an idea: a bow tie with a distinctive convex lower edge, bold yet elegant.
After several sketches, I approached a local tie maker to explore the possibilities. Through rounds of testing and refinement, we created the first prototype. I wore it to the wedding — and the response was immediate. Compliments flowed, and a few guests asked if I could make one for them too.
Encouraged, I asked the same tie maker to produce a small run. But they couldn't meet the growing interest. European manufacturers quoted prohibitive costs for small quantities. That’s when my father gave me the most practical advice: make them yourself.
And so I did.
I spent months refining the construction, experimenting with fabrics, and mastering the craft by hand. But something was still missing — a final detail that set the product apart. I collaborated with a local jewellery designer and 3D printer to create our very own bow tie clips. After multiple trials and samples, the design was complete: minimal, functional, and exclusive to Anoush Chohilli.
Next came the search for silk — not just any silk, but the finest quality available in small, sustainable quantities. After countless calls across Australia and beyond, we found a mill that could support our foundational collections. Every material, every partnership, every stitch was considered with care.
Today, Anoush Chohilli remains proudly Australian-owned. Each bow tie is handmade in Sydney, crafted using natural or sustainable materials wherever possible. We’re committed to ethical manufacturing, intentional design, and the kind of quality that wears in, not out.
We don't chase trends. We create wardrobe pieces that outlast seasons — pieces that speak to craftsmanship, elegance, and restraint.
The name Anoush Chohilli belongs to our founder and creative director, whose mission is to redefine modern menswear through purpose, story, and precision.
